Kevin Gritten
Meet Kevin Gritten, a Robinson Chamber of Commerce member since 2023, who joined the Board of Directors in 2025.
With a strong foundation in family business, marketing, and entrepreneurship, Kevin brings a wealth of experience and community commitment to his role on the Robinson Chamber of Commerce Board.
Kevin was born in Lafayette, Indiana, and moved to Waco in 1982. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1989 and went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Marketing from Texas State Technical College in 1992. From 1990 to 2005, Kevin worked in management for his family’s businesses, Gritten Automotive and Gritten Wrecker Service, gaining valuable experience in leadership and operations.
In 2003, he married his wife, Lorraine, and together they launched their journey in the barbering and beauty industry. They successfully owned and operated Champions Salon and Barber before founding Champions Barber and Beauty Academy, which is a state-licensed school in Waco that has helped train and launch the careers of hundreds of barbers, cosmetologists, and estheticians. With passion and dedication, Kevin continues to mentor and educate the next generation of professionals— leading training sessions on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and customer service to prepare students not just for their craft but for business ownership.
Kevin has a daughter, Charissa Deanda, who is a managing partner with Texas Roadhouse. In his free time, Kevin enjoys traveling, especially to beach destinations like Costa Rica and Florida. At home, he enjoys time with his two dogs—Ginger, a lively puppy, and Pepper, the family’s “old girl”—as well as tending to his fish tank. Kevin also enjoys exploring new experiences and staying active in his community. Kevin says one thing on his bucket list is to take a long road trip across the United States, exploring small towns and hidden gems along the way.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Robinson Chamber of Commerce board and look forward to supporting local businesses and strengthening our community.” —Kevin
